    Where Does ReptiTemp Probe Go?
Our new ReptiTemp 500R arrived today. Does the probe go on the bottom of the tank where the UTH is located (instructions say to put it inside the enclosure) or directly on the UTH underneath?

It goes between the UTH and the tank? That UTH is pretty stiff, I can't imagine it wrapping around the probe.

My own post wasn't too clear to me even haha

Don't put it inside the enclosure:D

Just rest the probe on the UTH, and the foil tape it down to it so it doesn't go anywhere. Packing tape would even work.

They flex a little easier when they start to heat up. Just don't bend it yourself, all you have to do is foil tape the UTH on over the probe.

the top of UTH is sticky so the probe goes on the sticky side then attached to tank or tub?

Yes, but most people prefer to cover the sticky side of the UTH as well with foil tape so it can be removed easily. Also, it allows for a nice pocket where the probe goes.

I don't do that. I'm not sure how different the temps would be outside the tank. But I prefer to know exactly what temperature my bp can reach at all times. I use a dot of hot glue to keep the probes in place and they pop right out for cleaning.

Well, shoot, I taped the probe to the non-sticky side of the UTH mat. But with the Acu-Rite probe there too, it's showing me what temp BP is getting, which has already gone down since plugging in the ReptiTemp.
