    building rack
Hey I am making a melamine rack. I have all the pieces cut and the outside frame built. I just got my 41qt bins and they are 6" in height. I was wondering how much space i should leave from the top of the bin to the next shelf. Should I leave any and just drill the shelf in while it is resting on top of the bin? Thanks.

put the bins on the bottom or top, which ever you want to start with. then use cds for spacers and then set the next shelf on the bins with the cds. drill your holes and screw in screws. easy as that

The height of 1 cd is all you need between the tub and wood right?

yes thats all you need 1/16-1/8th" gap is al lyou need. The magazine will be okay but might get some escapees with smaller snakes.

IMO that is a lot of space and I probably won't have to drill holes into the tubs to keep humidity in range. I always thought it was wood on tub contact haha!

Mine actually came out with no space after i was done. It is pretty snug against the top. I just put a bunch of holes in the bins. Rather the snakes not get out.

This is my Main Rack. Holds 12 6qt tubs on top 3 shelfs. And 7-41/28qt tubs. all tubs have the 1/8th gap between them.

I use many holes in my tubs as i live in humid state. This should be adjusted accordingly.
