    Dh ghost clutch
Good results from my DH SK Axanthic /Hypo breeding. This is that clutch from the DH girl that was 539 grams post lay. She is doing great eating 4-5 large mice a week putting weight back on nicely. :gj:

Sorry for the shadows. The sun was high in the sky and I snapped them quickly. I will do anything not to use a flash.

Pictured (fresh from egg) are 1.1 66% POS DH -- 0.1 Axanthic 66% and the first "bug-eyed" I have produced.

Thought you would all find her interesting. This rare condition is thought to be an "incubation thing" in which fluid builds in the lens/socket. They wiil pop at some point and I have been told to put Silver Sulfide or a triple antibiotic on them so they don't dry out too quickly after popping. I have been told that these animals can survive and be healthy in the long run.

She has no kinks, but her head seems "short/truncated. She is using her tongue and her mouth alignment looks good. Her color and pattern are different that the Hets. This difference is likely incubation linked -- all 3 are high gold and PRETTY! I do not think she is a Hypo --??? Opinions please. :)

She does not look hypo to me, she does look very light though. I wonder if this has to do with her eyes as well?

Maybe the same factor caused both anomolies?

I know that boas can get something similar to this, but I believe the size of the eyeball stays the same just distends a little more?

Her eyes look to be very enlarged, as long as the shortened head. Can she see?

Appreciate the insight Pat. :gj: My guess is that she is a Pos DH, and that her color and pattern difference is incubation related. Her color is lighter, CLEANER, and differs in pattern from the Pos DH sibs.

I assume she can see a bit. I find that pre-shed hatchlings react "oddly" to motion and handling for the most part anyway. :rolleye2:

Both eyes have subsided since the pics yesterday. A shed will help to tell what is going on in there. :) She appears to have normal eyes and I believe it is the swelling of the surrounding socket that makes them seem SUPER BIG. :O

She will be my special project. If she will feed I think she will have a decent shot. I WILL NOT be assist feeding her. If she will not eat on her own -- nature is doing what is best given her "issues". ;)

I like the heart on her neck. Her color is definately intersting and I think its from the het influence. The eyes just look Sci Fi, wierd.
