    Heat Lamp Bulb Colors
I've found conflicting info on the Web re. which bulb colors do/don't give off light, and which are safe to leave on at night so that the snake doesn't think it's still daytime.

Help! Any advice is much appreciated!

Ceramic heat emmiters (CHE) don't give off any light, just heat.

Red bulbs and moonlight bulbs are okay but not blacklight bulbs.

Exactly what she said. If you have to use a lamp, I prefer under the tank heat (UTH), use the ceramic heat emitters. They give off absolutely no light and can be found at any pet store. Although they are a bit expensive I think they are worth it.

CHEs also last a lot longer than a standard bulb. But, if you can avoid using lamps at all, that's better as they can really suck humidity out of the enclosure (CHEs especially).
