    Poop in hides?
Anyone ever have their BPs poop inside of their hides?

Just curious. I haven't discovered one yet but maybe I should be more thorough in my daily look-throughs.

Yep, all the time. One reason why I have two hides; she doesn't have to sit in her own feces if I'm not there to clean it up.

Mine always poops and sheds at the same time, in the same hide, every time.

Yes, that is why I try not to use hides unless I have to. I keep my ball pythons in rack systems with the sides, top, bottom, and back closed, so I don't think that it is necessary to use hides.

Yes, but I check my snakes a lot- and know pretty well their habits. I check almost daily... and weekly I run the bowls and all the hides through the dishwasher and clean the cages out, and I spot clean any time I see a mess.

Yep they will use their hide as a toiletting area which is why most of us recommend a very easy to clean, easy to disinfect, non-porous type of hide. :)

Funny story about that actually. One of our adult female ball pythons by the name of Kyna, back when she was just a little worm, would always poop in one of her hides. You always knew exactly when she'd done it as she'd suddenly come literally flying out of her now soiled hide and jet over to the clean one. It was pretty hilarious! We never saw her move that fast unless she'd stunk up her snoozing area and needed to relocate fast.

    yep, all the time.

I do a sniff test a couple times a day because the droppings are never out in the open.

I have several that like to both poop and shed in their hides. I have one or two that poop right next to their hides. Then their is the occasional log laying next to the water bowl.
