ok so im thinking of building a rack, could a ball python and leopard gecko live in the same rack like not same tubs but same rack?

Yes, you will just have to make sure the requirements are met for each animal in their tub

Depends on the temps required by a leopard gecko compared to a bp. Check out the caresheet, I'm sure there is one floating around.

I do not see why not as long as each tub is at the right enviroment for each reptile..... That is my newbie thought on it.

I don't think the requirements for geckos and ball pythons are really all that similair.
I am pretty sure the temps are much different.. I am no gecko expert though.
If you want to put them both in a rack, by all means go for it but you will most likely need two thermostats.

Or a dimmer on the heating element for the geckos, turned down. So when it's plugged into the same tstat as the bp tub, it will only give out so much heat. That's what I did for my second UTH on my tank.

You can keep leos with a warm spot up to around 88f so that's on the low end for a bp's warm spot. You could see how the temps vary from the tub at the bottom vs. the tups near the top of the rack. The lower ones may be in the temp range you are looking for.
