Re: What are your temps?
Hi,
Do you mean at the basking spot or the general hot end?
I just measured mine and inside the hot end hide above the heat pad it is 94f, the general hot end is 90f, and, since it is a fairly hot day, the cool end substrate reads 80f. The cool end is usually just a couple of degrees above room ambients so is mostly in the 75f degree range.
The snakes themselves are both hiding under the newspaper.
The male (who ate yesterday ) has a body temp of 80f
The female (due to be fed tonight ) has a body temp of 83.1f
All temps taken with a temp gun.

Re: What are your temps?
I checked 80-82, though during the summer they're kept at RT, which ranges from 78-84. But in the winter months its set at 82.

Re: What are your temps?
my temps are around 82, but i dont really worry if its out too much.. same with my eggs, i get people worried if they have .2 of a degree out, mine have a fluctuation of 4 or 5 degrees

If you keep your eggs at to high of a temp you can kill them or cause deformities.

Well so far the 80 to 82 is winning :P

been breeding and keeping for almost 20 years, rarely have any issues. basically i dont worry when the 82 degrees is out a little.. if it went over 90 i'd panic f course..
but what you have to ask yourself is this?, do all corn eggs in the wilds of florida stay at 28 degrees for 60 days?? not a chance, i guess at night they may go under 75 and others probably over 100..
its like feeding, people feed religously the same day each week, i cant imagine a corn going out every wednesday wanting food lol.
i do most things my own way, a lot differently to others, some will agree and some may point out what they see as faults, but if it works for me then its not wrong.. thats all i really ment.

Re: What are your temps?
I keep my snakes anywhere from 84-86 degrees on the warm side..the cool side I just let the room keep it cool :0)
