Corn baby still not eating

We've had our anery for a week tomorrow. He fed at the pet store on 6/18. We offered f/t on the 23rd (he shed that day) today we offered live, put him in a deli cup with the live pinkie, and put him back in his cage and back in the dark closet (this was at 8am, our normal feeding time) 13 hours later and the mouse is still there. What else can I do to get him established? His temps on the warm side is 88 ambient is 76 (both with temp guns). No over head light, just a UTH that's on the side of the viv per instructions on the heater.

First leave him totaly alone for a full week to adjust to the new home.Next lower the temp to 80ish as 88 is to high for a corn snake.Then after a week offer him/her the same food item that it was eating at the pet store.If he refuses leave him alone for three days then try again with food.If it still refuses let me know and i can give you some more tricks of the trade :gj:

Waiting that long for him to eat, he won't starve and die? He's so very very tiny.

Snakes absorb a lot of yolk from the mother when they're born, some can go a month or two and even longer without food if they wanted to, though you never stated how old your snake was, he ate on 6/18. He's fine if he doesn't eat, as long as you don't notice him losing weight and his scales start to loosen. Like Joe stated, let him alone for about a week to settle into his new environment, lower the temps down a bit because 88 is too high for a corn. DO NOT try to feed anything lower then 3 days apart as it will really stress your snake out.

Thanks guys. Someone else in another post suggested wait a week and leave him alone, so we did move him in a closet with 12/12 light cycle, less traffic there. Lowered the heat to 82. The care sheet on here said basking 88-90, so that's where we got the 88 to set the heat.

I have no idea how old it is, the pet store received it on 5/28. It ate 2 times in the 2 weeks they had it, skipping a few offerings.

The caresheet stated here 88 :O.Well that needs corrected ;)

{Provide your corn with a basking spot of 88-90° F and an ambient (background) temperature of 70 - 75° F. The ambient temperature should not fall below 70° F. It is vitally important to KNOW the temperatures at which you are keeping your snake(s). DO NOT GUESS!! A great way to monitor temps is to use a digital indoor/outdoor thermometer with a probe. Stick the thermometer to the inside of the cage on the cool end and place the probe on the warm end, and you'll have both sides covered at once} Yep this needs to be corrected :P

What are the proper temps? Our other one, we keep the same temps and have absolutely NO problems with him. He's great, docile, AWESOME eater (gluttony as a nick name) No scale burns or anything.

I'm curious about the temperatures as well Joe as the ones mentioned in the caresheet are similar to those recommended by Kathy Love in the corn snake manual (in fact she mentions a basking spot of 95f at one point ).

What temps do you advise?

Well when i attempted to rewrite a updated caresheet for our site awhile back i mentioned what my temps were and others,in the 80ish range.How long ago was the temp range info wrote? Things do change ;)
