    Electrical tape stuck to snake
I used electrical tape to secure the cord to my therm probe to the glass..well, last night he (baby ball python) was wrapped around the cord and had pulled some of the electrical tape off the glass. Tonight I pulled him out to clean he cage and noticed a 2" piece of tape stuck to him. I tried to pull off a little, but I stopped because I'm not sure if this will hurt him. Any advice on what to do here?

Well, I had a similar situation with some duct tape. I used a tiny bit of oil and some water and just started to gently roll it off. It might take a while, just be patient and try not to rip scales off.

For future reference, no tape :P

I second that--olive or vegetable oil works, just don't overdo it, and wash with a VERY mild dilute soap afterward, to remove the oil residue.

Thank you for this post. This saved one of my snakes tonight. I had used electrical tape to secure a wire to her tank and she got the tape stuck on her. The first thing I did (after freaking out of course) was google what to do and this post popped up. Vegetable oil worked great and then we gave her a bath with diluted soap. Only lost one scale and the piece of tape was about 2 inches long. So thank you again to the original poster and those who gave answers on what to do.
