    Are parasites transmittable to Humans?
    Hey guys

done lots of research on the net about balls!

one thing i cant seem to find tho>?

was just wondering if the Internals parasites can be passed onto humans?

I do sanitize my hands before and after! But here lies the issue. i like to walk around my house with my snake around my neck. he likes to wander so i gota adjust him and such. and i touch my laptop and other things such as door handles. and i let him chill on my bed.

is it possible for him to shed worm eggs? or other parasites? that i would somehow get infected with ? as most of the internals are not visable to the naked eye?

    Thanks guys

Its not likely..aside from just horrid hygene practices coupled with poor snake husbandry your not at any risk..

Short verson wash your hand, keep the snakes enclosure clean and your fine.

i keep him pretty nice and clean. "treat him as i would like to be"

    haha funny story !

i was holding him and he got spooked and flicked his tail with some force to it haha. Thus shooting wet stuff on my nose and neck!

dose anyone know the species of worms that infect BP's ? because i know only some worms can enter human hosts

And thansk for your prompt reply's:taz:

I don't think they have any cases with anything close to that, so I wouldn't worry. I let my anaconda rummage around while I play ps3, she will go on my neck on top of my head, down my face, she'll put her head ontop my ear and watch tv.

Yes, some parasites are transmittable, they're called zoonotics.
As far as general pet ball pythons there's not too much to worry about. But definately something to be aware of. If your snake is healthy and you practice good husbandry you should be ok, but sometimes parasites are transmitted, that's why they're still around and alive.

Some reptile parasites are transmittable to humans and other pets, none of my snakes are allowed free run until I get a clean fecal from them, I try to check everybody once a year but generally once I get a clean fecal from them they stay clean its the dragons that need retreated a lot of the time and any snake eating live or fresh-killed is at a higher risk. If your worried about it just have your vet run a fecal to make sure the snake is clean.

Nobody knows for sure. I have talked with my vet about this. Some people claim it is not possible, but it's best to keep everything clean anyways--better safe than sorry.

If your snake has internal parasites, they must be treated, or they will lead to further problems. Take a fecal sample to the vet and have them check. If they find parasites, they can treat your snake for whatever it has.
