    Spray paint okay?
I made a couple of hides out of a water jug and spray painted them black last week. Is something like that okay to put in a snake tub? I sprayed them last Friday so they've had 4 days to air out. I'm also going to wash them off before I put them in.

Just wanted to make sure the spray paint isn't harmful.

    Thanks.

I made some hides and spray painted them. After two weeks, they still smelled like I had just painted them. As long as the fumes are gone, you're good. However, most spray paints (good ones at least) will outgas for months.

Each paint has a VOC number which tells you how much it outgasses. The higher the VOC, the more fumes. Unfortunately, all the better spray paints have higher VOCs.

How long did you end up waiting before putting the hides in with your snakes?

I threw them out and got black plastic tubs from Dollar Tree haha. Not worth the time in my opinion.
