    Corn snake info/help
    Hello:
A coworker of mine has a 4yo corn snake she is looking for a good home for. Her and her BF bought a house and he's not into snakes so she is giving him up. I told her I would be more then willing to take him into to my care and adding to my zoo. I was wondering if anyone had any info or care sheets about tank setup. Also what the temps on the hot and cold side should be at? Would the set up be similar to that of my western hognose? I will be attaching a couple pics as well, hoping someone could also tell me what kind of corn snake it is.

Thats an amelanistic cornsnake, or amel for short. Care for them is super easy. Keep warm spot around 80-85 and cool spot 10 degrees cooler.

During the summer, I actually just keep mine at room temparature, which is around 78-82. Its not cool enough to have a "cool" side, and there's no need for the heat to be on. I'm not familiar with hognose care, so can't comment. There's a good caresheet here on BP.net worth checking out.

pretty much everything blueapplepaste said is all ya need to know..a good warm side temp of 85 degrees..a hide on both the cool side and warm side, some aspen substrate, a water bowl, humidity doesn't have to be high at all..(except for when their close to shed..then ya might want to spray the tank lightly to raise humidity or maybe put a humid hide into the tank)..minimum size tank for a corn is a 20L gallon..30 if ya wanna give him some room..and your good to go.. :0)

Yep, Matt said it all. :)

And I, too, keep mine at room temp in summer...cuts down on electric bills. :) More so since I keep the apartment at 78-80.

This is what my 4 corns live in:

4 cage system, each cage measures 36x18x15. The top cage has since been turned from two to one. They love it, even my huge ghost boy. :D

Thanks. :) And that's an older picture, the whole thing looks much nicer now. I'll get some updated pictures of it this weekend after the big clean. :)
