    Moggie is LAYING EGGS!
Moggie the blackthroat is laying eggs, five so far, I removed Wilson from the cage, and she's still laying. Not sure if more might be in the cage, under mulch, as I dug two out already.
    OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had ot call into work, so boss & clients will be mad, but I'm afraid she might get egg bound, or wilson would eat eggs, or she might turn on wilson...
She's not laying in a nest, although she dug spots.

thats very bad if she letting them out over the the mulch that means the environment she is in is not providing what she needs to lay her eggs properly. Get her on some dirt, when i mean some i mean at least 2ft, there burrowing monitors and should be kept on dirt plain and simple. If you due not due this you may have a female that will get eggbound and die as a result. My female argus goes all the way to the bottom of the 2ft of dirt i have in her cage without a problem to lay her eggs every few months and i bet if i put another foot or 2 in she would go all the way still. please add the dirt as soon as possible and good luck with the eggs. Did the male breed the male breed with her or not?

    Re: Moggie is LAYING EGGS!
Yes the male bred with her.
She had dirt but didn't like the dirt, so I replaced the dirt with mulch, which she liked better. There was still dirt in with the mulch as well. I'm still experiamenting with different mixtures of dirt and mulch, and diff dirts.

She has laid 20 eggs total, and 13 are good, 1 with small puncture, and the others were either punctured or slack. She'll be taken to the vet either tomorrow or saturday for a xray to be sure there are no retained eggs.

    Congrats Theresa,
I love me some black throats! I bet she'll be ok, just let us all know how the DVM visit turns out. We'll be wishing the best for you.
Sounds like you'll be a happy "grandma".
Hope all turns out well (I'm sure it will).

On any eggs that are punctured, put a band-aid on the puncture..

    The punctured egg rotted.
Total laid 27. 18 plump good ones in incubator.
Xray showed no more eggs inside her. She was pretty good.
