    I had a long haired male that I was able to prove out as a recessive trait by breeding him back to his daughters.

    Unless you do some selective breeding, the "long" hair won't be more than just a little extra fluffier. It is still cute though.

    We had a long haired mouse we called flufferbutt. She died a week or two after her 3rd litter. We have since had many different long haired mice. Our most recent is very long, I'll have to get a picture of him.
