Pattern through candling???????
I was curious how early you can tell what you have by candling because I Was just candling mine and I swear I saw 3 that look like they have spider patterns but its only day 40. Thanks guys. Im sure im just crazy or maybe their pattern is still developing so it looks like thin bands/stripes, color is one of that last things to develop correct? Not sure about pattern though. thanks.

We candle all the time. Sometimes you can see what is inside and sometimes it will fool you. So have fun guessing
Re: Pattern through candling???????
Chris,
I have candled pattern morphs as early as day 30, and been able to distinguish what they are. You will have a better chance of success with pattern difference the closer you get to day 42. If you saw Spider pattern at day 40, then that is most likely a Spider. The pattern of a snake never changes, and it seems to come in first during developement. Color is a different story. I believe that color comes in all they up until they hatch. I have cut clutches of Axanthic stuff, and thought there were more Axanthics in the clutch, but they gained yellow color right before they emerged. I am currently candling a clutch of Caramel Albinos, and they are on day 48. It is difficult to see them, because the color could still come in and trick you.
I hope that helps,
