Feeding help

Resently my young ball had mites, and stoped eating. i successfully got rid of the mites and still isnt eat. i have checked the temps which are 78 on left side and 87 on the right. i use aspen bedding, a median water bowl and two hides, she also has a climbing stick, she ate before with no problem, nothing in her envirorment has changed since then. i am getting worry as this is coming to a month and a week, it seems to be losing weight.


Tonight i tryed live, something i wast too to happy about but she had appsolutly no interest in the mouse. Could she have internal mites that i have not noticed, is there anything eles i can try. Any help would be wonderful.

He may still be stressed from the mites....and the treatment. I would bump up the temps a few degrees as well.
How long ago did you treat for mites?

4 days ago was the last times i the cage i havent seen any mites for at least a week.

How long has it been since he ate?

a month and a week

If your Bp is not sick and you feed F/t try this take thaw the mouse and lay it on the hot side of the tank/tub and cover the inside of the cage from top to bpttom with paper towels or news papers.kind of wad the paper you will be covering the snake and the mouse.It works for one of our picky eaters.

I would hold off feeding attempts for a week (depending on age of bp) If you continue trying too soon he may stress out. Your temps should be in a slighly higher range. I usually shoot for 82 cool and 90 warm side.

Well wait for a week like was suggested.then crumple up newspaper put your thawed mouse on the hot side of the tank.crumple/the news paper and start laying pieces of the crumpled paper in the cage covering the snake and the mouse.Put the paper in until cage is about half full and leave over night.Hope this helps I don't know how to explain any better.Good Luck!

had the same problem with my male normal 45" adult python. i just ended up putting him in the 20 gallon tank i had a live med. rat in and an hour later i came back and he had devoured it and fattened up quite a bit. lol. :snake:
