The first time we tried to feed mine my g/f did it in a separate enclosure and he didn't take it. What worked for me was thawing a hopper and waiting til around 10pm or so when he sticks his head out of his hide. I dropped the hopper in about 4 inches or so in front of his hide and walked behind a corner and peeked around so he couldn't see me. I know, I'm weird. Within a minute or so he came out, grabbed it, and pulled it in his hide. Saw him come out a minute later or so to fully finish swallowing it. After you thaw it in slightly warm water for a couple hours, right before you drop it in, put it in some how water for a couple minutes to get a good heat signature. Mine had no problem taking it this way. Make sure you put the mouse in a platic bag to thaw it, and if you are feeding live then I would just drop it in and make sure he can't see you. I fed him this way the first 2 times then switched to live in a separate container, but that part is up to you.

I got a new BP a couple weeks ago, and the people I got him from had told me it was time to feed him that day. I wasnt sure with moving him and all the stress if he would eat, but I stopped and got a couple small mice, and sure enough he took them both without a problem, and he has ate a couple more since then...:D

Well I pre-scented the room when I got the rat and waited for him to come out of his hide. After he had been out for a few mins. I dropped the rat in and it ran to the other side of the tank, but he was watchin it. As soon as it got close.....BAM!!! grabbed it by the head and the rest is history! I think the rat might have been a bit to small but I'm still pretty stoked that he ate on my first try. Thanks for all the great advice:gj:

Congrats on the successful feeding. You didn't take a picture of it with the flash on while it was eating did you? I'd be worried about him trying to spit the rat back out and choking himself.
