    Adopting Herps Out...
So I just thought I could vent here, not sure which forum was best, but I guess it would be this one.
Pretty soon I will have 2 BP's (new arrivals that still are gaining wait etc), and possibly an albino Burm (again gaining wait and may be a two to three month period).
It has just been harder and harder for me to find good homes. I mean I have pretty strict restrictions. I want to make sure the lil ones go somewhere that would be a forever home.
I think lately I'm getting more and more folks emailing and calling to just say they want to adopt a lizard. OK what kind exactly because there is a bit of a difference between a bearded dragon, leopard gecko, chameleon, and a water monitor. Same goes with snakes. I'm glad you want to adopt one and I'd love to help but are you looking for a corn snake or an anaconda?
Sorry to complain, I guess I've just had a very frustrating day of calls here at the rescue.
Thanks for letting me complain. It just seems harder and harder to find good homes, even with our great hobby growing.
Thanks again for listening / reading. I appreciate it.

I feel the same way. I've been wanting to start a reptile rescue of my own for ages but reasons like what you said keep me from doing it. There are just too many irresponsible people out there who are just looking for free pets. I hope it gets better for you, good luck.
