Best Starting Morph for beginners

Hey guys I had an apple juice container full of coins and just cashed it and got $77.30 out of it and right now about 110 dollars or so. Anyway, I was wondering if I should save up for a pastel male or get a spider male. Which do you think might be better? I love spiders but then pastels are more affordable considering I do not have 250 bucks plus shipping equals 300 bucks. I have found some lemon pastels for 75 bucks plus shipping and do you think I should go for it or save up? Quickly though, I got tubs, water bowl, hides, substrate and all I need is thermometer, snake, and heat!

Get what you really like. You will be more happy in the long run.

I think you should save up to get a decent thermostat to accompany all of your other husbandry purchases, and then buy which ever snake your eyes desire. :)

Thanks but the problem is that I would be happy with both!
I would think I am the king if I had either one of them!
Strolling through the house proud of myself!
But all the adults in my house HATE SNAKES!
They won't even change its water when I am gone!
And my dad says once it gets out and we find it, we have to get rid of it.
I am making sure that doesn't happen, AT ALL.
1.1 Ball Pythons currently both normal
and I want that next ball to be some wicked morph!
its just I cannot decide!

I agree with this - buy the necessary husbandry supplies you need for your current animals first, THEN think about adding another animal. :)

Right now, you've got enough to order a Johnson's or Ranco thermostat! :banana:

Also, if you are scraping your pennies together to come up with that much cash, and your parents are so unenthusiastic about the snakes, what will happen if you need to take one of them to the vet? You should save up some money in case of emergency, and never spend it, so it is always available if/when the snakes need medical care.

After you've got that safety net, then start saving for that dream morph. As far as which one to get, you should absolutely go with what YOU like. And that means the individual animal as well as the morph. Pastels in particular are highly variable, so while you may love some of the ones you've seen posted on this forum, the higher quality ones are not likely to be available for $75. Make sure you like the snake you are getting, not just the label attached to it.

If you are interested in spiders as well, you should read up on the issues they face. I'm still adjusting to mine and have had her for about a month! :)

Pastels are great too and IMO, are great starter morphs!

To piper, what issues?
I know some have head wobble but what other ones?
