    custom cage info..
ok i have a normal male that i have had for about 7 years and i want to build him a custom home in out kitchen and get him out of the rack, he is not a breeder and he is the reason i got into this hobby.

ok the little nook i want to build his enclosure in is where a microwave sits now soon to be gone. the area is 20" deep x 26" wide x 17" high is this a large enough enclose for a 1200 g ball?

Sounds to me like it's too high and not long enough. For an adult ball, I wouldn't go any smaller than 36"L and no BP enclosure should be taller than 14" since they don't really need height and height just makes it harder to regulate temps. :)

That's my opinion, having had adult BPs in really small enclosures - there's no room for both hides unless you have them 'door to door', let alone for the water and movement.

From my cage I learnt less height is good. You'll def need more length to him. I like to make my cages big enough for the snake to lie out straight.
