Need help new ball python!!!!

hey guys i wanted to know if this is weird.
I just got a albino ball python and im leaving it alone for a week. Shes in shed right now and when i peek in the closet i never see her on the hot spot so far i just see her in the cold side behind her other hide pushed up against the wall sideways is that weird

You need to get a digital thermometer with a probe to get the surface temp of the tub on top of the heat mat. You should get a thermostat as well to regulate a set temp. Some of these heat pads can get up to 115 degrees. You should have around 90 on one side and 80 on the other side with an ambient temp of around 82. Are the hides small enough for her to fit in closley? They like to be touched on all sides if possible. Also since she is in shed you really need to monitor the humidy. You should have 60-70% humidity during shed and 50-60 normally. You can get an accurite thermometer/hygrometer at walmart for $15 from what I've heard. You can get a thermostat online for around $30. Make sure she has optimal conditions or the settling in time will greatly increase.

Mine does that too. My hot spot is 85 rite above the water bowl. is that an appropriate temp?

100% you have to get some thermometers there is no way you can ever expect to solve a problem if you cannot tell what your temp and humidity are at. Make your conditions right and the rest seems to work it self out most of the time

Sorry for posting 2 times.... If your hot spot is 85 then in my opinion it is a little to low, 90+ is more appropriate. Also having the water bowl above the hot spot is a good way to encourage bacteria to grow. Move the water bowl, increase the hot area temp slightly and your good to go...
