Really worried about past due female.
I am only on day 32 however I am going to going around the state with my parents they will be in town in a few days. I am going to try to ensure that I can make it back home at least everyday this week but that might not happen. If she lays will the eggs be okay for a day or two out of my incubator? Is there anything I should do or look for to know when she will lay?

As long as your temps are good, and you have water in the water bowl, a few days in the coils of a protective mom is fine.

If you can see the swell at the back of the tail (near the vent) really really getting big (scales pulling apart), that is when you can tell.

Okay there is no swell at the vent yet but I can see the eggs inside of her. What should my temps be at in this instance. They are a little lower than normal right now as most females are still breeding.

Normal. If it has to be lower, as long as it is warm lower, its fine.

And here is what you should be looking for in terms of swelling towards the end...

Hmm I do not see any swelling down there like that how long does that take to develop?

    Depends...

That is how it looks right before she lays eggs! But it stays swollen like that for a week or two before the eggs are laid. Its just higher up in the tract...

when my female laid, my incubator wasnt even finished and the eggs stood with the mom for about 8 days with the temp 89 and the humidity in the 60-70% range and the eggs remained in very good health.. they are now in the incubator on day 28 and doing excellent! so as long as your parameters are ok i think ull be fine :gj: good luck
