    Jurassi Mite???
I just picked up some Jurassi Mite for my bp last night. I just noticed a couple of mites yesterday morning on my bp and decided to go ahead and take action. I've got some PAM on order and was initialy going to pick up some Reptile Releif but none of the stores in town had any. I sprayed and wiped my bp down last night and sparyed the enclosure. (of course after taking the water bowl out) My question is, my bp was soaking again this morning I'm sure due to lingering mites and I was wondering how this will affect his water bowl since the bottle said to take it out before I sprayed the enclosure? Should I change it out every time I see him in it or do you think it will be ok since I let the spray dry on him before placing him back in the enclosure? Just want to be safe. I really wish I had the PAM already so I could just knock those little buggers out:mad: Also, what techniques do any of you use while applying Reptile relief or Jurassi Mite? I sprayed his body only as directed by the bottle and then as best I could wiped around his head with a rag I had sprayed down. Anybody have anything better or try something else? Last ? I promise, will either the PAM or Jurassi mite kill any lingering mites that are attached to him when I spray down the enclosure? (yes I know not to spray the bp with PAM) Thanks in advance! I was dreading this day, it came quick:confused:

excellent thanks! Yeh, I'm looking for any pointers or suggestions to help. I've never had to do anything like this before and just want to do what works best and is best for my bp.

I don't know anything about the brand Jurassi Mite in particular, but if it kills the mites, I would think it has to have some sort of poison in it, and I wouldn't want that in my snake's water. Change the water every time you see him in it, or once a day even if you don't, just to be safe. It may be like PAM (provent-a-mite) in that once it is dry, it won't transfer, but why take the chance?

Once you get the PAM, you should be able to do one treatment and be free of mites. I believe all of the mite products (at least the ones that actually do anything at all) work the same way, by killing live mites, but do not kill the eggs. The difference with PAM is that it leaves an active residue in the enclosure, so when the eggs hatch, the new mites are immediately killed. Once it has been long enough that all the eggs have hatched (30 days I think?), you will be mite free.

That's why I can't wait for my PAM to come in and yeh, from what I've read, all these others do is just kill the living mites. Just wanted to give some relief in the mean time while I'm waiting in the PAM. Thanks. Any other tips for application guys and gals???
