    School Paper Help
    Hey all,

Long time no talk. For those interested, I started college in April to become a vet tech. I'd like to work with herps if possible, but have just begun classes. I start my second semester in a few weeks. Anyway, I have a final paper due for English and need some guidance.

My paper has to be on a topic that proves a point. I have two ideas that I ran across the teacher.

Idea 1: Throw away animals. With low prices, people think animals are not work the work. Ex: Buy a $3 rat, means it doesn't need vet care. I'd like to focus on reptiles with this one, such as anoles and iguanas.

Idea 2: The fact that animals that are released in the wild effects the ecosystem. I'd also like to focus on reptiles in this as well. Preferably in FL. Alligators, Crocs, Iguanas, Giants, etc. (I am actually doing a speech on this the following day when I have speech class, so it would be the easiest of the two.)

With these two ideas I need to have 3 "advertisements" (newspaper articles, online articles, etc.) and just need to know where or how I'd obtain the articles for the first idea. It's more of an opinion that a cheap pet doesn't need vet care, proper diet, etc. I was thinking about interviewing a petstore employee and/or the humane society or even finding statistics on pet returns or something similar, if i have time. Just wanted some suggestions on what to do.

It seems like a lot, so I might just go with Idea 2 since I have information on that.....

Thanks a bunch and I hope everyone is doing well.

I would personally go for idea number 2; the amount of readily available information on this will make your job much easier. Having an easier time with research will let you focus and dedicate more time to make sure your paper and resources support your aurgument as best as they can.

if you do number 2,might also want to include that though some of the animal issues her elike the nile monitors and monkeys in northflorida are from pet owners, but that a lot fht eones in the everglades, are from hurricane andrew, whcih seems to get overlooked by the press,so blame goes onto pet owners

As someone who has been there and done that remember ultimately it's the grade that counts because unless you are published no one will read it but you and the prof. So go with the one that holds the most interest for you. That is the one you will have the best shot at an "A" with. Also the work will not be quite so hard.
