Just a sulcata in the rain
This is Cecil - he's a new arrival here (he kinda got thrown at us, but we're happy with him). He seems very healthy overall, and he's very friendly. He's about 2 years old supposedly. We had him outside today. It started out as a very bright, sunny day but turned into a very rainy one. That's Florida for you.

There was lots of "nom"ing to be had. :D

    A goofy picture:

    And the rainy picture:

There are also a bunch of iguanas that live in and by a canal that runs in front of our apartment. There's a TON of them (and this picture doesn't even include all the ones in the tree!):

The lizards get right in the bird nests, and the birds aren't really bothered by it. They just come along and chase the lizards out when they need to feed the babies or warm the eggs.

Amazing pics, especially of the iggies! I'd love to have a Sulcata but probably won't ever be able to have one. They are just so fascinating to me though.

    Haha, great pictures.

Pretty neat to see all those iggies hanging about. The only thing I get in my yard close to that size are neighbourhood cats. (Some birds and chipmunks too though - which the cats hunt. Boo cats.)

Beautiful sulcata!!! I like the contrast in the rainy pic!!! It's crazy to me that you have iguana's roaming free. Since I live in New Jersey I am sheltered from all the neat stuff-lol

That sulcata's color is beautiful.. Very handsome, congrats on the new pick up, even if it was kind of an unexpected one.....

The iguanas are a very neat addition to the neighborhood too... The most interesting lizards we have around our house are blue bellies. Not that they aren't pretty, but your small talk stories are probably so much more interesting than ours about the local wildlife...;)

Thanks guys! The sulcata has been well taken care of. We've been giving him his soaks and letting him outside everyday. David polished his shell with some vitamin E the other day, so that's why it looks so nice. ;)

The iggies are pretty tame. We bring them salad mix from time to time and they really like it. We also have ... What's that flower they like so much? Hybiscus? Whatever, we have that growing all over the place here, so we bring them to the iggies. Even the big males just come over to you. I always end up running for the car or a tree or something because they arent afraid to come over and try to crawl up your leg. :P
