Going a little poll crazy again

LOL, seems like every now and then people figure out how to do polls, then every single thread has a poll.

Sorry, just making an observation. I'll add my own poll... what came first? the snake or the egg???? :gj:

I went for the egg. You didn't specify what type of animal ... so I'm going to guess there was some sort of egg before the first snake.

the egg came first. snake=reptile, there were egg laying reptiles before snakes thus egg came first.

same with chickens....egg came first.

in fact, eggs came about before vertebrates were even around. the inverts always win!!

The egg had to come first, because however evolution did it that mutation that made the snake have no legs that snake had to come out of an egg. sorry if thats confusing. haha.

lets set aside evolution....fossil records show that inverts were around well before any vertebrates....many, many inverts lay eggs.....the egg was first.

Yes many inverts lay eggs but, the way the op worded his question sounded like he was asking if the snake or snake egg came first. My belief is the snake was created first so the snake egg came second. Just depends on what egg you're talking about but, I still believe whatever egg is in question that the critter came first, whatever that may be!

well snakes couldn't have been "created first" because fossil records show amphibians came first and they lay eggs.

it is also well believed that lizards, an egg laying reptile, came before snakes which is supported by fossil records.

he also said "the" snake or "the" egg and not snakes or snake eggs. "the" egg means any egg as "in the egg is a product of reproduction". no where in that phase is an animal specified.

i will give you this. the snake egg is the first of its kind. i can't rember off hand of why. it is in a general snake book i have at the house. but this is not what was asked.
