OK, I think I'm ready to try again!

But which kind should I go with? :confused:

Tomato Frog or another PacMan??

I had a nice PacMan a while back, and due to lack of knowledge ended up losing him. :( After being told the old 'if you fall off' line, and some time and research, I think I'm ready to try owning a nice amphibian once more. Now the question is - which one?

I think I'm leaning more toward a Tomato, since they seem a bit easier to care for. What do all you frog folk think? :)

I like Red Eye Tree Frogs. :giggle:

So JEALOUS! I have a fetish with frogs.. and they would all have to be named George if I got one (don't ask LOL)

well red eyes are easy to take care of and even with being climbers, they are pretty slow and take a while to jump, (they think about it for a long time) and along with them being beautiful, they are kinda pricey with some being 50+ but you could get a good deal for around 20 at a expo. They require 10
gallons per frog.

for pacmans, they need a 10 gal as well and they need heat so a UTH would be a good choice or heat light (just as long as it doesn't dry out the substrate) and thats about it, but they are big eaters and require small meals a day or one big meal every two days.

I'm not to sure about Tomatoes but Im sure there care is similar to that of pacmans but Im not to sure about heat.

Of the frogs mentioned thus far, the pacman is the easiest to care for, and about the cheapest to purchase. You can get tomatos for a little bit more, but the red eye tree frogs can be found for almost nothing nowday. I have seen them as low as $8.50 for them on kingsnake and other classifieds.

Note to the original poster: DO NOT buy from Chris Menmoch on kingsnake. He only goes by Chris on there now. You can check the fauna BOI for reasons.

:) Thanks for the warning. If I do buy, it would be at the Rocky Mtn Reptile Expo this coming August. There are often a few good vendors of amphibians at that show, and I can get a first hand look. :)

red eyes are great, if you've got the money, you should check out the morphs, there jaw dropping! Pretty straight forward to care for, needing a UTH, temps around 75 to 85, I have a 2.0 UVB bulb to for visual light, makes the cage look really nice. For feeding, they are pretty bad feeders and sometimes eat a lot or sometimes not at all. but watching them hunt is amazing. as for cage size, one could stay in 10 gallon but height is better. hope this kinda helped. :)
