How is your BP's feeding response?
How is your BP at feeding?

For those of you with multiple BPs, take the one that has been in your collection for the longest.

    Feel free to elaborate.

For the first year with me, my BP had an awful feeding response. However, recently she has become a great feeder, never rejected a live mouse... that's the only problem. Ever since her feeding response changed, she's decided she doesn't like rats anymore.

My 08 male normal only refused once. He has been a great eater otherwise with an awesome feeding response.

The majority have a great feeding response, a few have a very agressive feeding response :O and of course a few are very picky.

Any chance you could make this multiple choice? :)

But I picked always been a great eater because out of 14 current snakes and some six or eight more we've had, we've only had one that was a consistently bad eater, and she died suddenly and without warning or signs of illness (other than not eating) so I think there was something wrong with her.

26 bp's break down as follows:

    21 f/t feeders
    5 still on live

    75% great feeders
15% slow response to attack, but feed regularily
    10% fussy

Only have one but she has never refused in the coming up on one year I've had her. Always has a strong feeding response but not what I would call aggressive

EDIT: She has been on F/T since I purchased her and switched from mice to rats on the first attempt

14? Bps...only 3 live eaters. Used to be 8 live eaters but one day they all just switched to F/T as I make it a habit to offer F/T to live eaters first before giving to the actual F/T eaters. BEst day ever btw.

My normal refused food one time. I think she thought it was too big and it might stretch out her lovely neck! Another time she took it backwards and it took her like 5 hours (freaked me out).

Since then we have switched to live and she has had NO problems. Always takes it and looks for more.

Then there is the bee...little guy....HUGE appetite!! He is only 2 1/2 months old and he is eating full size adults...2 of them at a feeding. When he finishes he looks at you like..."ok...where is the next one". He has eaten like he hasn't been fed in years since day one. And he finishes quicker than any other snake I have ever seen. Crazy!! But I love it!!
