    We've got a large female that we've been pairing with our spider male, she had gone off food for about 2 months but then started eating again a few weeks ago. I looked in on her a few minutes ago and she looks bigger than usual (I think). Is this ovulation?

    i would say yes, if the lump wasn't in the middle of the body. An ovulation should look like a football stuck 2/3 - 3/4 down the body. That picture looks like a snake that just ate a large rat.

    Part of what is making her look big might be an optical illusion because of the way she is going up & over the water bowl?

    i would say no. one thing i have noticed with mine is that for a few days before she ovulates. she will lay stretched out across her tub.
