where do people get frozen mice on the internet?

I tried to order from rodent pro, but shipping was forty dollars for 2 bags. (because of the dry ice, i think?) so how do i get frozen rodents on the internet, that is more economical for some one with a small collection that doesn't need a 500 mice a month?

Well, I get mine from a local dealer whose prices are awesome! Colorado Rocky Mountain Rodents. She ships for a fair amount and her rodents are great!

In the past I have ordered from RodentPro and have liked their products, but nights like tonight make me want to look elsewhere. I think I got a bad batch because one of my BPs won't eat any of the rats from there now. She used to eat them all the time, but not with this batch...

Shipping frozen rodents will ALWAYS be extremely expensive. Mine came in a box with dry ice and fiberglass insulation. The reason is that if they melt even a little, they aren't fresh anymore and can't be used.

I ordered from Big Cheese Rodents and had a very good experience, very clean mice/rats which were vacuum sealed and completely frozen upon delivery.

You should do the math and figure out how many mice you will use before ~6 months, which is how long a rodent can typically stay fresh while frozen (that's the rule of thumb, anyway). The vacuum packed bags will keep longer while still unopened. Then find out the minimum quantities you can order of the size you need. For example, Big Cheese sells adult mice in packs of 25.

Then, contact whomever you want to get rodents from, and find out how much your order would cost with shipping. Divide your order's cost by the number of rodents to get the price per rodent. Then you compare that to whatever you are paying buying from pet stores... That is how you know if it's worth it. :gj:

Never had to order frozen rats/mice online.

I've found that even in small amounts plus the shipping, ordering on line is signficantly cheaper than my local pet store and I'm guaranteed to have them. Recently three pet stores in my area "ran out" and I was stuck feeding lots of little mice for two weeks! That's when I decided to order from the internet. I'd rather have control over availability of food.

I don't like the looks of the frozen ones I find locally so I order online, plus it's cheaper. Mouse Factory is great and I also use Rodent Pro, with their sales, Rodent Pro is cheaper sometimes...if the price is close I go with Mouse Factory.

I would choose pretty much anyone over RP. Just my opinion. Big Cheese is expensive but great quality. I mainly order from American Rodent Supply and Mice Direct. ARS is free shipping to me and Mice Direct has really good prices.
