    My snake ate a mouse tail first...is this alright or should I be worried?

    Im gonna go with...no dont worry. It ate it and it's gonna digest the same way regardless.

    You shoulda gotten a pic I have yet to see that.

    I know why he did it too, because I held it by the tail and ran it under hot water because he wasn't striking at it. It did the trick but apparently I should have held it by the head and ran it under water that way.

    However now he is acting weird, sticking his face in the substrate...I think I may have spooked him, I hope he doesn't regurge.

    Could be just trying to burrow down to get a warmer spot on his belly. I think you probably coulda just put the mouse in the sink and warmed him up that way...or try using a blow dryer to warm him up...and give his fur the volume he wants. [haha]

    After thawing, Another trick you can do is to heat a cup of water (hot to the touch,but not to hot) bring it to the enclosure, and right before you offer the food dunk the head in the hot water for a couple of seconds, pat it on a paper towel and offer.

    Hi,

    I use a hairdryer to give the head end an extra blast of heat at the head end just before offering.

    I mention this because some of the fussy beggers don't like their mice wet. :rolleyes:

    Plus it generates lots of warm air circulating with the delicate hint of rodent. :mouse2:
