    Hi,

We have a great sticky on that very subject. :D

I'm afraid I don't understand the substance bit though - could you rephrase it for the hard of thinking?

    Hi,

    Ah right,

Well unless it is damp or dirty it should be fine.:)

The new skin always seemed just fine to me but if you had sprayed the tank or anything to raise humidity then replacing them would probably be best.

I hope the sticky helps you get the last bit off ok. :gj:

    Hi,

Well you don't want it to be hotter than 86f or so really. So I would probably see if you can put it back in the cool end of his enclosure as that should be around the 80-83f mark anyway. :)

But remember not to make the water any deeper than half way up his body and to keep an eye on him to make sure he is ok.

It is the humidity in the air from the water that does most of the work so you don't need to submerge him or anything like that.

Where is the bit of skin stuck on him?

Oh and did you remember to check the head peice of the shed to make sure the eyecaps came off ok?

Ok hadn't seen the just eaten part when I replied.

No I wouldn't soak him or otherwise mess with him if he has just eaten.

Did you feed him before or after he started shedding and had a bit stuck?

Leave him alone for 48 hours to digest his meal in peace - longer if it was a larger meal.

Is the bit of stuck shed encircling his whole body or anything?

    Hi,

The almost bit is important - if it does not go all the way around then let him digest in peace. If it does go all the way around see if you can use a damp cloth to see if you can get it to split or tear by rubbing his back gently from nose to tail on the stuck peice.

For the future if you know he is just about to shed or has just had a bad shed you still need to deal with don't feed him.

It really complicates things as you are supposed to leave them in peace afterwards with no handling or anything.
