Pipping time & i have to leave town.... questions..
Alrighty.. so I cut on day 52, they're at day 55 (its almost 1am so its technically day 55 right? lol)
It looks like theres 3 maybe 4 pastels out of a clutch of 8, one had its lil head poking out on Sunday, how long does it usually take until they leave the egg?
Im wondering because something came up and it looks like I might have to leave town this thurs until sunday/monday-ish. if they arent out of their eggs by thursday would they be ok in their egg tub that long? it has press n seal over it, how often would it have to be opened for fresh air?
Or could I set each egg up in its own tub in the snake rack w/ wet paper towels because by thurs that would make it day 59. and theyd be basically ready (in theory) to come out at anytime, right?
Or could I keep um in the bator w/o press n seal but in an escape proof tub?
I have some1 who is going to come here n check on everyone but I dont trust anyone to mess w/ the babies. spot cleaning, fresh water, birds, cats & rats is different then messing w/ hatchlings.
Is there anyway around this? any advice/tips/ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Im hoping they'll be out by thurs so I can set them up safely myself and just have my friend check the paper towels but... we'll see.
thanks in advance :)

if i were you i would put them in their own cage. Should work out.

so i wouldnt leave them in there but thats just me. i would have someone watch them closely for me and someone that is comfortable with moving them into their cage and setting them up...or...take them to your local reptile place explain the situation offer them some money to take care of them while your gone if dont have anyone.

ty for the idea but theres no "reptile places" around here except if by reptile place you're talkin about a pet store, no way lol and i only know 1 person willing to help me w/ my snakes while im away. every1 else is afraid of them, and i still wouldnt feel comfortable w/ my friend actually "handling" hatchlings. my luck my friend would drop one if one were to strike at her as shes ok w/ the calmer not so strikey adults but is very nervous w/ the young ones.

Take the Press and Seal off - put the eggs in a six quart tub with damp paper towels as the substrate (they don't need the incubation medium any longer) and a small water dish and stick the tub back in the incubator. They'll be fine!
