What is up with my Flexwatt?!
Alright I am having a not so awesome time maintaining the temps in the rack I built. I moved the probe around from shelf to shelf and right now I get the first three shelves in range but the bottom two don't heat up past 85. I soldered the connections and double checked them the other day just to make sure. Here's the pics of my set up.

Hmmmmm I'm not sure what the problem is, it should heat up just fine. I would double check all your wires and make sure they are good. If all else fails I would rewire at least the bottem two with new extention wire just in case. I have 6 feet of flex watt in my set up so far and all of it heats up well past 100, of course I don't want it that high, but it has no problems heating up. I wired mine myself as well, solder and extention cords.

Are you sure the connection are good? Is the flexwatt cut or bent on any of the heating elements? You can only cut them in certain areas of they won't work. Did you melt completely through the plastic anywhere the wire touches?

I can't really help you other than asking a lot of questions or seeing it in person and beings that the latter isn't possible........

Nah they're all fine. I have the 11" and the heating elements are all straight across not the kinked kind. I was told they can be cut to any length based off of their design. It came in a 6 Ft sheet and I cut each 6 12x11 sheets so that can't be it. From what I saw, none are cut or bent. =/

Check them separately. They are parallel so it should be ok. I would make sure they all draw the same amount of current. Use an amp meter.

Maybe you just have a bad section of flexwatt. Or a bad solder joint.
