Should i consider a gold phase white-lipped python?

I heard they were extremely aggressive but is there a chance i might find a tame neonate at a reptile show? If i do find a tame one, will it remain like that till adult hood?

I really need your help on this guys, the reptile show is in about 2 and a half weeks and i need to make my decision soon. or should i go for a red-tail?

I only know of one reputable person breeding them. Unless you know something I don't you won't find too many CB neos. I've been keepin an eye out on ks and it's the same 3 animals over and over again.

I think it would be pretty tough to give any advice without knowing your experience. Your best bet would be to try to find one at a show and handle it for a bit. Speak to a breeder about their care. I don't know how many people are really breeding them, so cb animals may not be that easy to come by.
You may also be best served only asking this question in one post instead of multiple.

just like mike said....the USCB ones are hard to come by. there are wild caughts avaiable online and at expos.

they are hit or miss with aggression. Neal, a member here, had a really nice one for a while. they are on my list too but i think i may hold out for a USCB

Captive Borns are far easier to deal the reputation comes from WC specimens but if you get an animal from a young enough age then you stand a good chance to calm one down just be aware of the species credentials. They are extremely quick, have the most teeth of any python, they strike even quicker than they move and are agile aswell. If you find a tame one and continue to handle it on a regular basis then yes it will remain tame through to adult hood. Most calm down by adult hood anyway it's during the adolescent phase that they can be testy. I'd go for a D'Albertis' over a Red Tail everyday of the week but I own one already and have more on the way.

I think you'd have a lot of luck taming one down if you found it as a neonate and handled it often. I had one for 6 months before I got tired of my hands and arms looking like pin cushions and sold him. He was about 2 years old and evil incarnate. I only had to open his tub a few inches and he'd start striking. He loved striking at my face. Thankfully it was never anywhere near enough for him to actually tag. :O

They are beautiful snakes and I'd get a baby in an instant if I ever get the chance, but no more sub-adult strike happy ones for me.

My friend can handle his adults and works with them. But they have a heavy feeding response. Last I heard he was incubating some eggs.

White-Lipped Pythons do tend to be aggressive but finding tames ones are not impossible.
An old friend of mine Tom Keogan should have some CB babies hatching in the very near future so you may want to consider buying CB.
