oh my god a hamster ate my snake:(
:tears:The worst of the worst has happened:( 2 days ago I fed my cornsnake a tiny dwarf hamster(1/5 the adult size). I saw him wrap the hamster nice and tight and forgot to check on him to see if he finished, he was a great eater and never had any issues refusing food. I think the hamster might have bit him so he let go and as hamsters can be quite vicous it killed him as we underestamated the hamster's strangth.I found the hamster feeding on my dead snake:( I am very dillagent when it comes to feeders and my rats are killed before being fed. I figured as this was a small prey nothing to worry about. I feel horrible and almost vomited. I am almost ready to give up on pets:(:tears: I am only going to be feeding my pets pinkies from the hamsters. I though they would be a great substatute as they were a great size and didn't smell.

I am so sorry to hear that. It is easy to do, especially for your great feeders. I know how hard it is to loose a snake that you care a lot for.

    So sorry for your loss.

I always feed f/t. I can't take the live thing, plus I've heard too many horror stories like this.
