    Question For all nyc bp owners
    as u may know,ball pythons are illegal in nyc and my question is since its is illegal in nyc to have a ball python can i take my snake to a vet and not have it taken away by police for "my protection" or will i have to travel to nassau county (which is legal to own and sell bp's) to get it checked out?

    If snakes are illegal in NYC, then you can assume there won't be any herp vets in NYC as well.

    snakes are legal in nyc such as corn snakes but the python family snakes are illegal in nyc

    Ah. Then it's up to you. Is it worth the risk of the bp getting taken away? While you may not think it's a danger to anyone, other people, especially those in authority, might not share your opinion.
