Behind the Name
So I am currently deep within the entire naming process for my little guy, and I was wondering about the stories behind your Ball Python's names. :D
My main point is, with different animals/pets, names have different qualities. For instance, with a dog or cat you need a name that will be reinforced constantly with the individual for obedience purposes, reptiles it is different because the animal would not necessarily hear its name per say so it can be literally anything in that sense.
So, I know many have you have multiple snakes, but if you would just elaborate on how your snake(s) received its name, that would be enjoyable to read. :D

Re: Behind the Name
Wes for Wes Anderson, my favorite director. And, it sounds cool. Since I haven't had my bp sexed either, I feel it fits both ways...if you don't think about where the name comes from.
My roommate had a snake he called Mr. Poops, but I never actually saw him poop...ever. :D

Re: Behind the Name
I bought my wife a BP 3 years ago, it was our first one. She saw it and not wanting to be bothered with thinking of a name said just name it Cow. So Cow was our own little guy now. We had to get rid of him because of a move so we gave him away to our friend who had a profound interest in Cow. Last month, I picked up a starved and miserable BP from a guy on CL. In honor of our first BP that we regrettably gave away, we named this guy Moo. My 2 yr old daughter helped name the rest of them based off of Moo and her childish wisdom....my het albino female was named Ribbitand my normal female was named Itsy Bitsy Spider. My wife named the pastel Sprite just because he was this new mythical creature for her as she had never seen a morph. And our het lav albino still has no name, just a ? on his index card on the tub. Based off of that, I'm leaning towards Enigma. I dont know how cool or interesting this was for ya, but that's us. Lol

Re: Behind the Name
My first BP, a male, is named Alice after Alice Cooper.
My second BP, adopted from a CL ad, is named Charger. The previous owner liked the San Diego Chargers and thought she was a he. I didn't feel the need to change it, even after having her properly sexed at the vet.
My RTB is named Vincent, also after Alice Cooper, whose real name is Vincent Furnier. Isn't it obvious by now that I'm an old-school Alice Cooper fan?

Re: Behind the Name
:D
Snow corn = Freya
Ghost corn = Mystic (not greek, but he had a mystical look)
Lavender corn = Amethyst (she's just too purple for any other name)
Amel corn = Apollo
Spider BP = Aranya (obvious :))
Pastel f BP = Aurora (too bright for any other name)
Pastel m BP = SunSpot (ditto, and a bright spot in my life because of his back story)
Albino BP = Midas (the touch of gold)
Past names included Hera, Achilles, Zeus, Celeste, Aries, Venus, Athena... you get the theme here. :D
My lizards have gemstone/mineral names - Topaz and Pyrite. :)
We like unusual names for our pets.

Re: Behind the Name
My King snake is named Shah, the Persian word for King.
My Monitor is Goanna, a very generic term for Australian Monitors
My Rosy is Chompy. He was quite a biter when he was tiny.
My girlfriend named the two Geckos, Charlie and Penny
For the Python trend, I went with Titan, and kept the theme going with Aphrodite for the female.
My male cat is named after one of my favorite athletes. (George Hincape) The girl is Roxanne, after the Police song.
The Dog was named by my bosses daughter
The new Kenyan doesn't have a name yet. It's up for grabs.
