when's the best time to take her out? And I don't mean a date haha
So i got my ball on Monday. Shes doing REALLY good. Sleeps all day comes out around 10:30pm. My question is....when is the bets time to take her out? I would like to take her out during the day. Would it be okay lifting her hide up and then picking her up??

    Thanks

Give your BP about a week to settle in to her new home. Then try to fed her. If she eats, wait 48 hours for her to digest, then you may start handling her.

If she doesn't eat, don't handle her other than the minimum required for cage maintenance until you get the feeding issue resolved.

As far as time of day, etc, you may take your bp out at any time, but be understanding of their mood. Being picked up when they are asleep can add to the stress of being handled. Also handling them while they are in shed seems extra stressful to them. And if they are stressed, they are likely to either spend the entire handling session in a ball, in a frantic attempt to run away, or possibly even bite you.

We have 22 snakes, 18 of which are BPs. 1 is a super picky eater, so I leave her alone as much as possible. The rest, I don't handle them at all for 48 hours after eating unless they've done something like spill their water, and avoid handling them when in shed, but other than that I handle them whenever I want to, and it does not seem to cause any problems.
