Rack system (dazed and confused)

Hi all, I'm working on building my own "rack system". I'm so confused about the process of it, like what's the best size for an adult, sub adult and baby ball pythons (how many qt's) for each. Also would like to know the best brand of plastic tubs to use that will not cause any harm to my animals. I appreciate everybody taking the time to help me on this project. Thank You Very Much!!!!

I think most folks probably use 41qts for large females, 32qts for smaller girls and breeder males, and then smaller for their juvvies and babies. I've been using 12-15qts for juvvies, and when the time comes to build a baby rack I will go with even smaller ones. Iris is good, as are Sterilite, Rubbermaid, and just about any others you can find. Just make sure there aren't any sharp edges the snake can hurt itself on, and if there's a slight dip in the top lip of the tub you want to make sure that's not going to create a gap big enough for your snake to get out/snagged once it's slid into the rack.

I searched around until I found tubs of the size and 'make' that I liked, then designed racks around them using precut melamine shelving from Lowes and the heating bits and thermostat from Reptile Basics.

Most breeders suggest 6 quart for hatchlings up to around 200 - 300 grams, 15 quart from 200 - 500 grams, 32 quart from 500 - 1500, and 41 quart from 1500 grams up. There are some breeders, on the other hand, that use 28 quart from 200 grams up. IMO, do what works best for you. I don't think that it matters what type of plastic tub you use. Try to find tubs that are smooth, because they will be easier to clean than tubs that are not smooth.

Ah, another tip learned the hard way... Make sure that when you purchase your tubs you pick up a few extras. These tub companies are notorious for discontinuing models that us snake folks like and you might need those replacements at some time in the future.
