    Cheap hides on a budget!
I made some cool, cheap hides for my snakes. Cost per hide- $3-4

We buy the 2.5 gallon water jugs for the house, so I had a couple of these laying around. My female wasn't fittin in her terracotta pot too well so I needed something tight fitting but accomadating for such a large girl. Basically you cut off the bottoms, and spray paint them flat black. Leave them to ventilate for 2 days or so in the sun or wherever. They're super easy to clean and move around, which is good if your snakes redecorate like mine do.
    Water- $2-3 bucks
    Spray Paint-$1
Happy snakes and saving money- priceless.

Do your snakes seem to like them?

Very much so. All my snakes seem a lot less stressed.

This is a great idea. I did something similar, but using old plastic containers (just cut the bottom off) and that rock-like spray paint.

Milk jugs work for smaller snakes also. I have two ball pythons and they each have two milk jug bottom hides and they stay in there most of the time.

Yeah I use these for my smaller snakes as well as my adults. They all like them so it works out.
