    Hi,

    Is he losing any weight?

Have you changed anything about his enclosure or anything later?

    Hi,

I personally wouldn't if he was already eating mice or rats previously.

Hamsters can be hard to get regularly at an affordable price as well as the possible problems withy fat/ hair content.

What was he eating most regularly before? And how were you feeding it ( live, F/T etc )?

You can also try chicks - I don't like them as a major part of the diet either to be honest but they are quite cheap and tend to come in bags of 50 so that's one problem less.

How much does he weigh just now and how much do you think he has lost?

2.5 months is not necessarily something to worry about. Some balls go of off feed......some don't. Having your snake go off feed is normal providing he is healthy and there are no husbandry issues.

You can't eyeball weight loss. If you are worried about him not eating, getting a scale and keeping track of his weight would allow you to better pinpoint the affect his fasting is having on his condition.

He'll eat when he's ready providing your husbandry is correct. You need to be sure that he's set up correctly and has no health issues.

......and even if your husbandry is correct and you have confirmation of his good health - he still may not eat for months at a time. There are plenty of threads on this forum documenting the various fasts that ball pythons go on.

Hey phunky. The link may not be the right one. I get a "new reply" window. Can you repost the link? I'd like very much to read it.
