Question about Pastels Blushing........or not
So I am looking for a nice 0.1 Pastel this season, that I will eventually pair up with my 1.0 Pastel (daddy wants a Super  ).
I really like a lot of blushing with Pastels, but I am seeing a lot of pictures of babies that seem to have no blushing at all
Are they born with the blushing already apparent? Is blushing something that develops after they start to grow a little? Or will they hold the same pattern they are born with into adulthood? If it is something that develops with time, is there a way to determine which may be prone to blush more, or is it just chance?
I am sorry if this seems like a stupid question or is old news, I seem to suck at using the search feature (although I do try a lot).
Re: Question about Pastels Blushing........or not
blushing should be visable even in young bps, I don't really see adults with more blushing than they did earlier in life.
Some pastels (graziani line specificall) were selectively bred for blushing. The best way to find a pastel with lots of blushing is to find one that, well, has lots of blushing.
Re: Question about Pastels Blushing........or not
It could be several factors - you're seeing lemon pastels, which don't have a lot of blushing, but are known for their bright yellow color. Or you're seeing the results of people not selectively breeding, and breeding lower grade pastels to any normal female, whether she compliments pastels or not.
Re: Question about Pastels Blushing........or not
There are plenty of pastels out there that don't have much blushing. If you want one with lots of blushing, you'll have to look until you find one. They aren't hard to find, but you might have to pay a little more.
To my eyes, blushing does get a little more apparent with age. I believe this is simply because the blushed area is just plain bigger. A spot that is 1/4" diameter on a hatchling might be 1" on an adult. But blushing won't appear out of nowhere. If a hatchling has little or no blushing, it will have little or no blushing as an adult as well.

This is what I was thinking. Thank you all for the feedback.
