Need advice on my next snake purchases
So my current snakes are in my cig. I have a birthday coming up, so I'll probably have like 300ish to spend on snakes, and I am kinda torn on what to get. As far as aesthetics go I am a fan of most morphs, I am mostly looking for some advice with regards to breeding. A spider makes the most sense, bumblebees are always awesome. Mojaves are also appealing. I'd also consider a pair of hets, but I'm not sure I could get a decent sized pair (ready to go in say '10 breeding season) for that much. Theres probably tons of things I'm leaving out, so suggest anything.
peace

We're getting a black pastel for about that next week... they mix with pastels to make pewter and since you have the potential to make super pastels with your two pastels, that bred back to a black pastel makes silver bullets I think... correct me if I am wrong. But that is some awesome stuff!
Re: Need advice on my next snake purchases
I would suggest maybe a Vanilla male, they are in the $300 range, and Vanilla Pastel's are smokin!! Good luck on whatever you decide!!
Re: Need advice on my next snake purchases
I think you are on the right track with a Spider, bees are awesome :gj:
Het for Hypo's and Caramel Albino's can be found for $75-$100 for left over 1.0 08's. You might even be able to get a 1.1 pair for $300 if you are lucky and have good timing and dealing skills.
JMO, but Caramel Albinos are Hot!
Re: Need advice on my next snake purchases
Spider, mojave, cinny, black pastel but the spider is probably the best choice.

If you mean the '09-'10 breeding season which will result in '10 hatchlings, I doubt you will find any female large enough to breed for that price other than normals and maybe some phets. But since you already have 2 breeding sized females, you could just pick up a nice co-dom male, feed him well, and he has a good chance of breeding in the coming season. Put both him and the pastel you already have with 1 each of the 2 females, and that won't be bad for a first breeding season.
Another possibility is to pick up a female morph or het hatchling. You can put your pastel with both the females you already have, which isn't quite as interesting for this year, but it sets you up to be able to make more combos in a few years.
As far as what morph to get, go with what you like. There are quite a few morphs already in that price range, and prices may come down even more as we get further into this season and lots of hatchlings are available.
Here is a recent thread that discussed possibilities in exactly your price range:

Re: Need advice on my next snake purchases
Yeah, I think I am going to go with a spider, but I can't really decide on male or female. My current pastel female is only like 100-150g. Will she be ready to breed next season (that is breed in '10 for '11 babies) or only be ready for '11? A male would be nice just because I could get one for this season and have another male to try breeding for this season and still be able to make bumble bees when my baby pastel female gets big enough. Guess my thinking is that since for the same price as the male any female I get wouldn't be much bigger than my pastel baby now. Am I right in my reasoning?
Re: Need advice on my next snake purchases
Female spider and a yellow belly male!!! :gj:
Re: Need advice on my next snake purchases
id go with a female... you can breed your male with the female and get bees but you wont cut out your possibility for supers... even if you have to sit them out for one more season...
