is cage carpet enough to keep the snake from getting burned?
Im pretty new to BP's and before I actually buy one or anything I wanted to be completely set up.
I plan on using the cage carpet like astro turf or something for the floor because it seems easier for me to get the hang of clean and I was never good with the beddings.
Im just wondering if thats enough to separate the snake from the UTH, even if it is regulated by a thermostat?
I really don't want my snake to get belly burns. ouch!:(

If you have a reliable thermostat it will maintain proper temps and avoid over-heating so you have nothing to worry about.

A thermostat should be enough to keep your snake from getting burned. Keep the temp low enough that even if the snake somehow buries itself so it is touching the bottom of the cage that it won't get burned. Substrate is not reliable to keep the snake from too much heat, a good thermostat is :D You should have no problems.
