    Help, My BP Escaped
My 2 year old BP escaped from her enclosure this week, and I need ideas on how to find her please. We went out of town for a couple of days, when we returned this afternoon she was gone. The lock on the sliding glass doors to her enclosure was not placed on tight enough, and she squeezed out. We have searched the house, and need some ideas. When we did not find her in our search, I took her enclosure off of the desk it and placed it on the ground. Since today was her feed day, I placed a FT rat inside her enclosure and left the door slightly open to allow her access. I am praying that she will smell the rat and come to eat. If all goes well she might crawl back inside the enclosue and into one of her hides. Any other ideas?

Somebody on another thread suggested putting flour in the area (near where she escaped), and then following the trail if/when she slithers through it... I thought that was a pretty clever idea! You should also look in the warmest & tightest spots, since that is what they'll head for normally. Delilah escaped from her tank once, and we found her a few hours later squeezed behind the dresser - and wrapped up in a bunch of wires, which took a while to untangle. Good luck, and I hope you find her soon!!

Thanks a lot. Wish I knew when she may have gotten out so I can guesimate how far she may have gotten I assume it was the night we left, so she has a three night head start on us. Flour is a great idea, we will try it.

Mine escaped twice when I first bought her. The first time she was in the room next to her, in my night stand drawer. The second time she was in her room, behind a dresser drawer (but in the dresser). Hope this helps, and good luck!!

Remember she'll be in the smallest place she can get, and shouldn't be very far away.

Based on our experiences, it sounds like they have a thing for dressers! And my dresser was right next to her tank, so it also seems they don't go too far...

Just got back from her room. Took out every drawer of every dresser. Pretty sure she was on the floor because she drug a timer off of the desk, an that cord ran under the desk. No luck yet. Room is now very dark and very quiet, with a fresh rat in the enclosure. If she is in the room I hope she comes looking for her meal.

Is there a computer or any electronics near by that would have put off heat while you were gone? Those places would be the first place I would look..... hope that your wayward one is safe and returns quickly.
