thermometer/hygrometer question
Can anyone guide me to the right thermometer/hygrometer? They say Wal mart is my best choice... I found this one:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ct_id=10671021
I'm not sure about this one, which is why I'm asking the pro's
I had the panzy pet store kind where you stick onto the glass ONLY because I didn't have to pay for it...
The temperatures are right...but now I'm getting worried if they are off
I want Montie to live like Paris Hilton, except he's not searching for a BFF cuz I'm right here! And I don't want him to make any sex tapes...unless for breeding purposes
That's hot...
P.S. I am happy to say I fed him successfully on Monday...and left him alone for the required 48 hours...and he's acting like a snake now... :snake:

Eep Paris, :bolt:
This post has a good pic of the type you are looking for plus a few more suggestions on places to look for them - and dont forget ebay. :)
You will get much better use out of the type with a probe really.

Re: thermometer/hygrometer question
They don't have the good one on the website, but I found it by all the other thermometers at my local Wal-mart. It was $12. Just ask an employee to direct you to the indoor/outdoor thermometers or you will never find them lol.
It looks like this:

Has a wire for the probe to go on the hotside
And a hygrometer
One thing I have noticed though is that if you use a heat lamp, the humidity can be off if its closed to the thermometer.

Darn it, I went to Walmart, and they didn't have it...I did go to Kmart, and it was 22 dollars...I didn't buy it only because i saw a previous thread of yours for partshelf.com and they are selling it for 16...
but i just calculated the shipping...its actually more expensive to purchase it online...
Should have bought it today...
Oh well, off to Kmart tomorrow...
Re: thermometer/hygrometer question
Try Home depot or Lowes, they carry accurites. and you want the ones with a probe.

Try Lowes, I found it for 16 dollars...
If anyone happens to see this, in case i can't find it in any of the other threads, where do you actually put the probe?

I was told that first you put it under the substrate under the warm hide to make sure the temperature does not exceed 95 degrees, then you put it on top of the substrate under the warm hide and adjust the depth of the substrate until the temp reads 92-94. Then if you want you can put it inside of the cool hide to measure that temperature. Then once you are certain they are safe and correct, you can put it back on the glass under the warm hide to monitor that as it is the most dangerous to your snake.
