Don't know if anyone has perused through this website. But this group of folks is in the same bed as PETA and HSUS.

They even have a "comprehensive report" about the horrors of exotic pet ownership.
    http://www.bornfreeusa.org/downloads...ets_Report.pdf

They also claim in this report that a RTB was placed near a little girl putting her in grave immediate danger.

They completely lump ALL reptiles in as inherently dangerous animals like the likes of bears, tigers, lions and other large cats and mammals.

    Quote:

Across the country, millions of exotic animals are privately owned. Animals kept as “pets” or in roadside zoos and menageries include lions, tigers, cougars, servals, wolves, bears, monkeys, alligators, venomous snakes and other reptiles, and many other species.

Their very nature makes these animals incapable of being domesticated or
tamed. Not only are exotic animals inherently dangerous, but the average person cannot provide the special care, housing, diet, and maintenance they require.

Just be aware of these guys, they are working everyday, and HAVE HELPED PASS LEGISLATION against the keeping of reptiles, avian and other exotic mammals.

Well HSUS, PETA, and bornfreeusa can take a flying leap! I've had enough of their propaganda.

My daughter-in-law is a vegan petard supporter, and she usually leaves my home in tears lately, because I am not sitting quietly on the side-lines any longer, And I tell her Peta is a good idea gone horribly wrong.

Thanks for the heads up. The gross ignorance in that report should be amazing... but unfortunately it seems like run-of-the-mill for these types of groups (Peta, etc.) Salmonellosis, oh noes! I guess we better outlaw spinach salad and raw eggs, too.

I've often thought that a permit system would be appropriate for animals that can kill/seriously injure a human being - giant snakes, etc., but it's irresponsible to straw-man all exotic pet ownership with those dodgy roadside zoos and the few losers who keep a bobcat in the back of their pickup truck.

And I love how they had to put quotations around every use of the word "pet", like it's profanity.
