    Betadine Treatment
Ok so I wrote in a previous post about a recurring scale rot - the vet said it was a yeast infection - and after reading more and reading the posts (and not hearing back from the vet), I think I am going to try a betadine treatment. The last stuff, Nolvasan, turns out is a kind of minor cut cleaner and dog ear cleaner.

My question is, how do I treat the python with the betadine, and how often? I treated him with the Nolvasan diluted in water once every 12 hours for one week. Is it similar for betadine? I soaked him in the Nolvasan. Also, is this an over the counter product I can buy at a pharmacy?

Do the same kind of deal.

Betadine can be had at your local pharmacy, you can even get a generic for half price.

Mix it like you would with the water, only use enough to make a "tea" color.

Might benefit you to get some Thermazene from your vet to apply to the spots as well.

I bought the betadine today and I'll begin to treat tomorrow. So you are saying basically the same kind of treatment? soak him twice a day? and should it be for like a week or until it completely goes away? also, last time i only soaked him for a few minutes each time. is that long enough?

Sorry for all the questions, I get very nervous about doing things wrong with my pets! I appreciate the help

When I had one with scalerot I put him in the rubbermaid while I cleaned cages and then pulled him out and stuck him back in his cage and it was gone with his next shed

Depending on the severity, but I have been wrestling a case of SOMETHING recently, and I've been soaking every other day to every day. Twice a day seems rather extreme, BUT depending on the severity, it may deem necessary.

    I'd soak for 10-15 minutes.
