going to be in florida

I am going on a cruise on the 27th of december and my first stop is port canaveral, florida. Those of you that live around there or have been there. what would you suggest i do while i am there. I don't really want to go to disney world or anything like that. i was thinking something like an airboat ride in the everglades or something. i want to see the wildlife there that we don't have over here in the valley of california.

Depends on how much time you have. Near Canaveral is the Space Center which does tours and the Canaveral National Seashore which is great if you're a birder/beach goer. You can take an airboat trip of the St. Johns River which can be nice. Also, you can do some of the springs such as Wekiwa Springs State Park (will be crowded on the weekend) and also canoe the Wekiwa River which is pretty nice. Tours of the Everglades can be nice but you're a good 4-5 hours away from it. And the best is to head down to the Keys for some snorkeling/diving.

yea it depends on how much time you have. the space center is the only thing really near port canveral. i lived in titusville for most of my life so i know this area well. the one thing that many people like is Ron Jons surf shop.....its down the road on US 1 in cocoa beach. other than that, your going to have to travel to do anything cool.

well that sucks. We are going to be there for 12hrs, but I don't want to get to far away from the boat, cuz they WILL NOT wait for you. lol. I guess maybe we will just do the space center or just walk around and sight see. We are going to be snorkling in the bahamas so we don't want to do that twice. hmmmm I don't know

there really isn't anything around the port to see. your going to have to drive somewhere. downtown cocoa has a cool little artys area if you like that stuff....i find it to be neat!
